Relaxation and I are re-acquainted

Steve and I had no pressing plans this past weekend and it was AWESOME!  We made plans on the fly, took as long as we wanted to get things done and just moseyed through the weekend.  It was so nice not to be rushing to do housework, waiting for people to show up, etc.  Wow.

Saturday we went to Babies R Us to look at double strollers.  We're torn between the Joovy Caboose and the Graco DuoGlider.  I really don't like side-by-sides, so that ruled out the Maclaren and the Pegs and Combis are just out of our price range.  So, I like the Joovy, but the basket is TINY and is inaccessible when the second child is in it.  I'm also not sure whether Andy would be sufficiently contained by it.  It also doesn't have a parent tray or cupholder.  The DuoGlider has an enormous, accessible basket but the stroller itself is very long and seems kind of unwieldy.  I just don't know.

While there we also tried on Baby Bjorns.  I think I'm going to end up buying an XL Bjorn on ebay and then getting a MeiTai from garden_blog when Joey has a little more head control.  (I just don't like slings...)

The only other purchase I think I'll be making is for a new bouncy seat.  I like the new Fisher Price one with the little bobble head band on the entertainment bar.

Saturday night we went to Costco.

Between Saturday night and Sunday morning, the all-day rain had turned to snow and everything was icy.  But we went food shopping anyway and spent two hours meandering up and down the aisles doing our first big food order in awhile.  Then we watched the Steelers game and sat on the edge of our seat through the entire second half.  What an awesome game!!!

That was it, that was everything we did.  Other than that, there was a lot of playing with Andy, sitting around, talking and just being together.

:) fun shopping! We liked our Bjorn very much but Lennon got so big so fast that after a few months nobody wanted him hanging off their shoulders! *haha*

I found several on ebay, new, for about $50. At half price I could deal with only using it for a few months and then likely ebay it myself.

Yeah, we're keeping ours. Maybe the next kid will be smaller.

Joey is the last for us so as he outgrows things, they'll be auctioned off. My attic will be so empty as the clothes are donated or given away, the swing goes away, the jumperoo goes away, the feeding table goes away, the bottles, the pump... I have sooooo much baby stuff in storage right now and have to sort through it all...

I love weekends like that!

We looked at strollers too this weekend! I'm not impressed w/ the Joovy. I think I like the sit & stand better since, if I remember correctly, there was an actual seat for the toddler rather than just a bench. I'd have to find a store nearby to look at it again. I think I'm still going w/ a SBS - either the Peg Aria Twin or the Combi. The Combi is ok for newborns, per a website I found. (Found the one w/ cup holders online. And, I found the Peg for about $100 cheeper online too.) But, we're still going to wait until the baby comes to see if we need it. I'd like to sling babe & push Aaron, if possible.

I thought about that too-- though I think I'd Bjorn Joey and use my Quattro with Andy. If Joey is a teeny tiny peanut like Andy was (6.5 lbs at birth) then this might be a good option for awhile if we go out. I can't imagine lugging the carrier and pushing the stroller if we go to the park or something. But I imagine wearing Joey to chase Andy around might be a great option.

Luckily, a friend has a DuoGlider she's going to lend me to see if I like it. Another friend has a Sit n Stand. So I can use them for a little while and see how I feel about them before making the purchase.

i like seeing my name in the middle of a post. well, only if its something good ;)

so far we dont have a double stroller, just a few slings and carriers and a single stroller. it works fine. of course i think a double might be a bit easier in some situations, but for most things this is good.

hopefully i will have my website back up and running again when you want something, but if i dont then just let me know and ill make you a mei tai or whatever you want. :)

Wasn't that Steelers game incredible?! We had to go to lunch at B's grandparents house & there were a dozen people already there but for the first time EVER B turned on the tube because it was the end of the game and we just HAD to watch it! :) His dad was thrilled but everyone else was looking at us like we were from Mars. :)

Sounds like a wonderful weekend. Was Rachel there or away visiting someone?

That was an awesome game! That the Steelers won meant that Steve was in a good mood for the rest of the day. When his team loses, he sulks.

Rachel was here but she was doing her own thing mostly.
