Lotsa stuff

Steve's been working like a madman so I have been busy busy busy trying to keep Andy out of trouble.

I was at home with him all day Friday and it was AWESOME!  We had so much fun playing together and running around the house.  I so miss that.  I also started the massive mountain of laundry that had accumulated over the two holiday weekends when I didn't get much of anything done.  I did some light housecleaning and tired myself out.

Saturday Steve was working noon to midnight but managed to find someone to cover the first two hours for him.  We went to Costco and spent way too much.  We did find the aquadoodle mat that we wanted to get Andy for Christmas.  We bought it and called it a birthday present.  When he left for work I drove up to Newark and went shopping with my mom for birthday presents.  Andy got a new Baby Einstein DVD (On the Go), Wiggles hoppity hop ball and the Radio Flyer Pathfinder wagon.  He loves the new BE DVD-- it's all about transportation: cars, trucks, trains, boats, planes.  All that boy stuff plus the puppets that he loves.  I am so over the Baby Einstein stuff but he still loves it and I'm sure I'll be watching them over and over with Joey for the next two years as well.

After Toys R Us we went to Stride Rite for some new shoes for Andy.  He got these cute back oxford shoes that look a lot like my beloved Doc Martens.  Steve joked that he may paint the stitching bright yellow so we match.  Hee hee.

Had burgers for dinner at my mom's.  She makes the best french fries ever and I have no idea why.  We buy the same potatoes, use the same canola/corn oil blend and still hers are better.

Sunday Steve had to work again.  I was really upset because we planned on birthday cake for Andy.  My mom, Aunt Anne and nephew came down to the house for singing.  I put together the wagon and he LOVES it.  Steve got home just in time for cake.  After my family left we sacked out on the couch for the Steelers Bengals game.  I made a quick run to the grocery store for supplies to make these yummy tacos I saw on the Food Network and have been fantasizing about.  THEY WERE SOOOO AWESOME.  Definitely a do over and good enough for entertaining.  I made the tacos, pico de gallo and the guacamole from that show and they were all incredible...

Here's the link to the recipe if anyone is interested: http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_25194,00.html

It’s called  Tacos Carne Asada.  Caly-- I highly recommend this for your new Weber grill!)  It was probably the best guacamole I have ever made- and I make some pretty darned good guacamole.

The game was awesome and the Steelers rolled over the Bengals.  Steve taught Andy to throw his hands up in the air anytime he yells "Touchdown!"  It is so cute.

After the game I got to talk to usedmonk for a little while.  J   He and his fiancee decided against having Andy in the wedding (and his niece as well) citing that I'll have enough stress travelling within a few weeks of a C-section.  And that's okay because, well, as usual, he's right.  Plus that means Steve won't lose as much work as he would if we had to go to Michigan early for a tuxedo fitting.  (I think that Andy would be absolutely adorable in a tux...)  After I got off the phone Steve and I checked out the place where the wedding is going to be and sat and analyzed how we're going to do the trip.  When are we going to leave, how long is it going to take, where are we going to stay?  Yadda yadda yadda.  I have to figure out what the heck I can wear that will be accesible for nursing, not irritate my incision and be dressy enough for a wedding at a swanky place.   (Any suggestions are very much welcomed!)  We chatted for awhile and then crashed hard.

All I can suggest is toga! We all wore them at Aunt Julie's wedding.
