Brighter days?

I feel like all 4 of my posts yesterday were a kvetch fest.  Maybe that's why hardly anyone ever comments on my posts.  Sniffle.

So better news today... Steve found a solution for fixing my flat tire.  I don't know if I mentioned it yesterday but it ended up being more than just the screw, the wheel itself is bent from where I bounced off a curb a few weeks ago.  It was holding, I guess, as long as the tire was mounted but when they took it off to do the patch and then put it back on, it wouldn't work. Sooooooooo, Steve was hunting for a new wheel at the junk yard and they said they could fix the old one and gave us a loaner that will work for a few days for $100, as opposed to the $275 it would cost for a new wheel..  Yay!

Last night we had Christmas leftovers for dinner-- ham that my mom sent home with us, potatoes au gratin and some green beans.  Andy absolutely loved ham.  Then when I finished my dinner I started cutting up a pear from my Harry & David fruit basket from Steve.  I shared a piece with Andy and he started saying "mmmmmmm, apple!"  I guess all fruits are going to be apples.  We ended up sharing two pears between us because he loved it so much.  I have to admit, it was a pretty fabulous pair of pears.

Today Steve is working late.  I'm trying to copy the journal I'd been keeping for Joey out of the crummy notebook I'd been using into the pretty journal I bought at Barnes and Noble on Monday.

I always try to reply. Am I not enough? ;)

I thought about you and your City Ham over the holidays. I had NO HAM this year! I'm so craving it.

So it WAS a Harry & David fruit basket!!! Man! One day... one day...

You're my only commenter on most days. Sniffle, Sniffle.

I didn't make my ham this year for Christmas. I do have one in the freezer so I'm thinking maybe some random sunday in January I'll thaw the sucker out and coat it Alton style. I soooo love that recipe.

It WAS a Harry & David. It's funny, he had it delivered to my office. Our receptionist carried in the box and I said, "Ooooh someone got a fruit basket from Harry & David. I have always wanted one. No one ever sends me a fruit basket."

She said it was for me and I was all excited. I opened it up and he'd written on the card, "Because no one ever sends you a fruit basket."

Gotta love that Steve.

Haha, everything is an apple! We had a Harry and David pear too!

Speaking of words, Mr. Baby will say "Bye" to you whether he means "Hi" or "Bye." He'll just wave and say "Bye."

Awww that's cute. Andy waves bye and says "bye bye" but only sometimes. The kid just doesn't like to perform on command.

When I was on the phone with my dad last night, Mr. Baby grabbed the phone and said "Bye" into it. He loves that. It's hilarious. :)
