With the recent engagement stuff I thought I'd click over to Weddingchannel.com and get into the whole planning thing.  I was so disappointed to see the disaster that site has become.  I have so many friends from waaaaay back that I met on that site back in 2000-2001 and then when I was pregnant with Andy.  I was really hoping there was still a happy little community over there.

The boards are poorly organized and it seems like 1,000,001 first posts with no follow-up.   There are like 15 '2012 Brides' threads that I noticed and, I should have expected this one, but everyone is, like, 23 years old and annoying.

I'm not really sure what I expected but this certainly isn't it.

There are a few wedding planning groups/communities right here on LiveJournal. It's not really the same as our old community at WC was back in the day, but it's something. It's good for seeing cute posts about wedding themed ideas and stuff. It's boring if you're looking for non-related type discussions or having a special wedding planning journal.

I guess I'd suggest joining one or two of the wedding planning groups here on LJ and then either tag all your planning related posts "wedding" in this journal OR I suppose you could have fun having two accounts. One for wedding stuff. One for regular everyday life stuff.

Whatever you decide, I look forward to hearing all about your fun plans! I imagine you'll want to incorporate the kiddos into the wedding so that should be really neat to hear about too! I'm so happy for you both. You both are some of the kindest friends I know online and so adorable together and clearly happy in anything you post be it pictures or stories!

Here's the one I think I was a member of when R and I will still engaged:

Just be aware that like any wedding planning online group there are a handful of cliquey catty rude types. I do know that there was one of those snooty "cool kids clubs" where they talked shit on other people.

On the flip side, there were some SUPER cool and nice people who I am still friends with on LJ. There were also a lot of very fun ideas and pretty photos of completed weddings from members.
