There's an exhibition in Philly and also in Manhattan called Bodyworks-- it's a collection of ACTUAL HUMAN BODIES that have been preserved by a process called "plastination" where the body fluids and fats are replaced with polymers to stop the decomposition process.

They were talking about this on the radio on my way to work this morning so I had to google it when I got here.

I can't decide if it's really interesting or really gross.

I went to see it here in Chicago. It's really interesting, and maybr just a little gross. But mostly interesting.

Brent & I went when it was downtown here. It's SO amazing! I actually considered donating my body when we got to the end. And it was funny because you could do the exhibit only or exhibit with IMAX movie at the end. We chose the combined and were told the movie would be showing in 3 hours from the start of the exhibit. We're like, "What in the hell will we do to waste time?" No problem though! We were so enthralled with it all we were almost LATE to the movie! They even have horses that are plastinized! It's really cool.

We're hoping to go the next time it comes around.

(Oh, and you're not supposed to touch but I managed to get away with it. I just HAD to! It looked so real! I touched this old mans chest near his nipple. It ended up feeling like a coffee table. And then the body started swaying on the display. I thought it was going to fall! It stayed though. And then EVERYONE who'd seen me touch him asked me, "What's it feel like?! I've been DYING to do it too!" :)
