Older, perhaps wiser.

Friday was my 34th birthday.  We all woke up and dressed early.  I wanted to go to Shady Maple for breakfast.  I LOVE going out for breakfast and I love the Maple (our little nickname.  we're on that kind of basis, you know!) so it seemed a great way to start the day, without taking anything away from Joey.

He's still the best birthday present I ever got.  He's so sweet and adorable.  I could just mush him.  And I do.  A lot.  Figuring I have a good 30 birthdays on him, I kinda look at February 12th as his now.  I can't believe he's four years old already.  I think it's awesome to share my birthday with one of my sons.  This was, I'm 30 forever. :)

Did I mention that you eat for free at The Maple on your birthday?  That made it even better.  I think Wayne said that our check was $15 for the four of us.  That's so awesome.

So I had made-to-order Eggs Benedict- my favorite- and some fantastic hashbrowns and bacon.  It was a gorge-fest.  Andy had waffles and a huge doughnut with sprinkles.  Joey had M&M and chocolate chip pancakes and he ate the whole thing, plus some grapes and a doughnut.

From there we went to Chuck E. Cheese's, per Joey's request, for awhile.  The boys ran around and played and I read a magazine at a table.  Wayne did the supervising and token distribution.

When we got home, the Edible Arrangements van was pulling out of our driveway.  Wayne ordered me a small "bouquet" of chocolate covered strawberries, pineapple hearts and grapes in an adorable little vase with hearts on it.  We ate a bunch of the fruit as soon as we brought it inside the house.

There wasn't much time before we had to all get in the car to drop the boys off to Steve.  There was traffic and it seemed to take forever to get there.  We're usually at Steve's by 5:30.  I think it was after six on Friday.  We went through the McDonald's drive thru to get the boys some Happy Meals, their favorite source of sustenance.

We dropped the boys off and went to dinner at a place called Toscana 52, a neat Italian place that features a different Italian or European city and their cuisine each week, hence the 52.  This week was Verona, home of Romeo and Juliet, in honor of Valentine's Day.  I still need to Yelp the meal.

Saturday was quiet.  We had to pick Lexi and Nathan up at Wayne's parents' house.  We went to dinner at Ruby Tuesday and all was well until the end of the meal when Nathan barfed all over the floor.  It was pretty embarrassing.

Sunday, we were home.  Nothing out of the ordinary, just waited for the boys to get home and for Lexi and Nathan to be picked up.
