Juli is a dumbass, part deux

I figured out the sewing machine and it's wonderful.

Saturday,  I thought I was being all domestic goddess-y and took down all my curtains in the house and washed them.  The thin tan ones from the living room came out great.  So did the heavy ones for Joey and Nathan's room but I need to shorten them so they haven't gone up yet.

I took the heavy red drapes from the sliding glass doors out of the dryer and hung one panel.  I was all proud of myself until I looked down and noticed that the mutha f*#@%^ shrunk about eight inches and now looks utterly ridiculous.

Damn, damn, damn.

can you add another fabric to the bottom and make it look intentional? i make SO many mistakes (when i finish my fall sewing i will post and detail my mistakes) but dammit i HATE tossing things. i always at least try to "save" them first.

I think I'm just going to put them in Andy's room and get new ones for the kitchen. I needed heavy curtains in his room to darken it.

Yikes! I'm sorry!

I've washed all our curtains with success so far but I've never dried them. I am lazy enough to hang them up *still wet* so the drying process will take the wrinkles out.

I had a similar laundry blunder this week that ruined a favorite dress. I'm still so mad about it.

Of course, I left the dress in the laundry room, so everytime I go in there I have to see it. I kept it thinking maybe I could fix it. But, I should probably just toss it... sigh.

Sorry about your curtains.
