The Universe aligns and sends me signs that make me happy

The new issue of Entertainment Weekly arrived today and I was sitting at the computer desk flipping through it.  Deep inside was an article for something called Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog. "Hmm?  What's that?" I thought, "Sounds amusing."

It's by Joss Whedon, genius creator of Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Serenity/Firefly.

Starring Neil Patrick Harris.

It's a musical.

It's available for download on iTunes.

So I paid for the "season pass" and downloaded the current three acts and laughed my ass off.  Seriously, I am now the assless.  I laughed it off.  It's gone.  If only I could laugh my stomach and flabby upper arms off, I'd be in business.  Alas, it's just the ass.

Can you tell I've had a glass or two of wine?

It's a tragic comedy.  People die like they do in every Whedon-verse.  Here, NPH is an aspiring supervillain who wants to get into the Evil League of Evil run by a villain named "Bad Horse" who is apparently, actually a horse.  Dr. Horrible is bumbling and awkward.  His arch-nemesis Captain Hammer is full of himself and goes after the doctor's crush because he can.  He actually says the line, "The hammer is my penis."

Hysterical and I highly recommend it if you have any sense of humor at all or if you just like watching people make fun of superheroes.

The universe aligning stuff is because apparently Joss Whedon announced TODAY at Comic Con, that there's a fourth act in the making.  Wooo hoo.
