It's SUMMER...

...and I had a crazy busy weekend to prove it.

Saturday, Wayne's parents and grandmother brought dinner to the house and spent some time just hanging out and playing with the posse of kids.  The day started out pretty stressful because we had cleaning and laundry to do before their arrival and in preparation for the Luau on Sunday.  All of the kids were well-behaved and happy.  It was a great evening.

Then Sunday was all about pineapple and surf.  We started getting ready at 10 am for the party to start at three.  I am wishing now that I had taken two seconds to take pictures of the setting before people arrived but I was so busy hostessing that not very many pictures were taken at all.  I have to go through what I did take and load em up to share.  Everyone who said they were coming actually came.  We had a full house-- about 25 people-- and it was a blast!  I didn't get to any of the planned games (Limbo, musical beach towels and a tacky tourist relay) but I think the horde of kids who were here had a great time, as did their parents.  Most of the group left around seven o'clock but Jeff and Mike from the Falcons group spent the night and drove back to Jersey in the morning.  We cleaned up the food and most of the stuff from outside on Sunday night but my kitchen is still a disaster so I will be busy today, scrubbing the kitchen floor.

Yesterday we took all four kids to Sesame Place and met Steve there to let the kids play in the water.  The kids were good, they had a blast splashing around and just playing freely.  Mommy parked her butt in a sun chair and let the water lap around her feet.  It was fantastic!  The party plus the water park means I have a great base tan started.  If I can get darker without the usual prerequisite burn, I will be happy.

Ooo, cool!

Limbo, eh? I always admire people who can do that. It is one of the 293487923851982365434 things at which I suck.

I used to be better. Alas, old age and increased weight make it somewhat more difficult.

Now that would be an interesting goal, though. Can you imagine going into a gym and telling a personal trainer "I just want to get better at limbo"? Heh, that's an amusing scene.

The water was pretty great. It was HOT this weekend in the afternoons. I loved it. Of course, we didn't have a camera with us this time, so no pictures.

If you do decide to go, let me know and we can meetup. We have season passes.

No Tan!
Bad Juli. No cookie. Tanning at any level is bad, especially people who burn. 1 burn = significant increase risk of cancer (full percentage points!). I don't want my friends to get cancer. Do I have to send you good self-tan lotion, cause I will.

Re: No Tan!
Um... I'd rather be pasty than orange?

I'm not actively "tanning" but even with sunscreen (50 spf!!!) and being outside, I get pink and then tan.

The Luau had been planned for months. We only go to Sesame Place because we get in for free.
