There *are* people here!

I am sooooo excited.  Last week, I was cruising Yahoo Groups and found a few local scrapbooking groups.  I joined one, emailed back and forth with the owner and then went to a crop at her house last night.  First of all, she lives in the same town.  That's kinda cool because it's a teeny tiny town.  To know someone else nearby- who has young children- is really really great.

So I grabbed all of my stuff and drove the two minutes over to her house.  I paused in the driveway for a minute or two before gathering up my courage and going into the house.  I don't know if anyone else really has the anxiety I do about meeting new people, making friends, etc.  It's hard to put yourself out there but the rewards are phenomenal.  I was nervous but the hostess (Korin) was sooo friendly and nice.  I felt really welcome.  Two other women also were there and they were great too.  I am so happy to have some new friends here.  It really helps to make me feel home here.

I worked on a bunch of Christmas cards.  I don't know how good they are in the scheme of things.  I really need to work on "finishing" things more.  So that's my new papercrafting goal-- more ink, more distressing...  I'll try to take pics of them.

In the meantime, from my scrapfest a couple of weeks ago, here's some layouts I did in Joey's book.  I do the boys' books in a sort of modified "Creative Memories" style in that I wallpaper onto the album pages and they're not covered in plastic.  I do these albums that way because I like to have pull-outs, flip-books and other interactive type elements.  So anyway, these pages are missing their journaling...

I really like those pages! You did a great job.

How neat you found some friends close by, and ones that scrap on top of it all! :) Yes, I get that very same anxiety right before meeting someone new. Hell, I'd probably even get it with you when we finally meet! I'd be afraid you wouldn't like me after all :( But then I'm sure it would quickly pass... cuz' we're twinsies! :)
