Drama Overload

It all starts Tuesday.  I got up early, dressed the boys, dressed myself and headed out to a park I'd never been to, to meet a new mom's group in my new area.  I got lost, got there an hour late and apparently ended up at the wrong park.  I was ticked.  On the way home I took the boys to Arby's for lunch and then to Chuck E. Cheese's to play. From CEC, I wanted to go ACROSS THE PARKING LOT to Ulta for some new Bare Minerals goodies for the trip to Atlanta.  Some idiot came flying across the parking rows at like 70 miles per hour and nearly hit me.  I had to slam on the brakes and poor Andy lost his drink.

So I gathered myself together, loaded Joey and my wallet into the stroller and told Andy he had to hold on to it.  I knew this was a bad idea going in, but I had high hopes Andy would behave.  No such luck.  He ran around, he wouldn't listen, he knocked over a small display.  Essentially he embarrassed me beyond words and I felt like the worse mother ever.

Yesterday, Steve came out to the house to pick up the boys and take them to Pittsburgh to see his family.  I loaned him my minivan so they could be comfortable traveling and safer.  Steve drives an 87 Toyota that stalls and doesn't go over 55.  So I showed him the house, traded boxes, loaded gear he'd need into the van and off he went.  With the stroller.  With my wallet still in it.

Last night, Wayne and I were running out so he could get his haircut, so I could get some bras and to grab dinner.  It was about 6.  I went to get my purse and noticed my wallet wasn't in it.  At this point, Steve was 5 hours west of where I am, in Pittsburgh.  I called and left a bunch of messages but forgot that there's crappy cell reception out where his parents live.

So we ran our errands and on the way out of Cold Stone Creamery (the pumpkin ice cream is in!!!!) Steve called me back.  It was 9 pm.  He was going to have the wallet Fedexed to me.  In normal circumstances, me not having my wallet wouldn't be a huge deal-- except that I need to get on a plane this evening!   Argh!!! I need ID!  Fedex was closed.  So upon examining all the options, I am driving to NJ in Steve's car (which was supposed to sit in my garage all weekend) to go to the DMV and get a replacement license.  I have to bring all kinds of crazy things to prove my identity, like my expired passport, a bank statement, my marriage license and my college diploma.

But I can't leave first thing in the morning because our giant freezer for the garage is being delivered by Sears this morning.  Sometime between 8:30 and 10.  And I had to go to the grocery store to get waffles so that when Wayne's mom is here with the boys Sunday night, they have something for breakfast.

So I did that, the freezer was just delivered, I still need to do my hair and makeup, put a costume one of the mom's group women wants to borrow out on the front porch and go to the house in Keansburg for a copy of my marriage license.  From there it's the DMV for me and then to my parents' house, where Wayne will pick me up, hopefully around 4:30, to get to the airport in time to check luggage and make it through security for our 7:30 flight to Atlanta.

Wish me luck!
