Weekend update... a couple days late.

It was a quiet weekend here in central PA.  Quiet for us at least.  Wayne's kids weren't with us this weekend.  So Friday was quiet.  I don't think we did anything all day except clean up around the house and play with the boys.  Friday night we went out to dinner with Wayne's friend, Jake, and his new (pregnant) girlfriend, Crystal.  We went to Texas Roadhouse and picked giant steaks out of the glass case.  The boys were well behaved and it was fun.  I'm a little worried for Jake.  He's a sweet guy and is happy about the baby but it makes me nervous that they've been together for two months and are having a baby together.

Saturday morning we slept in a little bit, ate breakfast and got on the road.  Being a Saturday in the fall, all of us were dressed in purple.  We went to Costco for assorted goodies and then we drove out to Langhorne.  We had lunch at Chick-fil-a and then went to meet Steve and drop off the boys.  From Langhorne we went straight past home out to York to meet Wayne's parents at the York Fair.

We ate A LOT.  Our approach was than if we wanted anything, we got one and shared it so we could sample as much as possible.  It was a good strategy!  We had a roast beef sandwich and then a boat of the most fantastic batter-fried veggies I think I've ever had.  We had chicken-on-a-stick, Italian sausage, lemonade, cheese steak and I think there was more that I'm forgetting.  Wayne's dad got everyone tickets to the show that night-- the comedian Bill Engvall.  You know, the guy from the Blue Collar Comedy Tour?  The "Here's Your Sign" guy? I wasn't really expecting much but I ended up laughing my ass off.  He's a lot more blue without network censors!  We played some midway games, walked around and left with cinnamon buns and kettle corn to take home.  We stopped at Wayne's parents' house to see their vacation pictures and ended up getting home around 1 in the morning.

Sunday is football day, so Wayne watched the game(s) from the couch and I set up my folding table, chair, Cricut and mountains of stuff and scrapped ALL DAY.  I finally started Joey's first year album.  (Good job, since he's almost 2, right?)  I made a huge mess, it was great.  We went out to a Chinese buffet for dinner and then I scrapped some more.  I need to add my journaling, but I left room for it.  I was thinking about typing and printing it out for a neater look, but I also think it's cool to write stuff out by hand.  Who knows, maybe when I'm gone, Joey's kids will want to know what their grandma's handwriting looked like.

Monday I scrapped all day too, only cleaning up all of my crap after dinner.  I am trying to use up smaller papers and cardstock on greeting cards.  Still, I have Joey's First Year to finish, my Las Vegas album, Nela's wedding, 2005, 2006, 2007.  I need to be scrapping waaaaay more frequently.

Today I was up at 4:30 and out to Langhorne to meet Steve and get the boys.  We had a nice little exchange and I drove home instead of going to my mom's.  At some point, I will nap.

I'm glad I've been getting some (Chick-fil-A that is!) otherwise I'd be tres jealous of your weekend CFA fests! :)

The fair sounds like it was fun! I keep telling B we need to go to the LA County Fair before it's over on the 30th. I only go to eat random fried foods (I've heard they have a fried chicken Krispy Kreme sandwich! what in the hell does THAT mean?!)

I agree that handwriting some of the stuff will be very nice to look back on for years to come. You have beautiful handwriting for it anyway (I used to before arthritis but now mine bites!)

I think they're getting a little carried away with the deep frying of things. Krispy Kremes are fried to begin with, aren't they? At the York fair I saw fried twinkies, fried oreos, fried pickles (which I wanted to try but chickened out...) and a few other things that struck me as weird.

I'll have to work on the journaling stuff today and post pics of the pages I did...
