Almost a week since my last real post

Things are kinda weird with me lately... there's lots of change in the air and I'm trying my best to adapt to it all.

I went on a second interview yesterday for a very large company that I interviewed with almost a month ago.  It was probably the best interview I've ever had.  It was with their VP of Marketing-- a very powerful, politically-connected man.  I was incredibly nervous about the interview and the job but he was very nice and made me feel at ease.  I hate the whole fake formality of job interviews and I really think it does both parties a disservice because it's all an act.  Anyway.  VP guy was very candid and threw me a couple of situational softballs that I just slammed.  He smiled every time I spoke-- not in a smarmy kind of way, but in a "I am soooo gonna hire you" kinda way.  He was impressed by my background.  Gotta love the effect of the $100K degree on people.  Said I was intelligent and had personality.  I left feeling very good about myself.

Went to Baja Fresh for a celebratory lunch.  Steve took the day off to watch the boys while I went so I brought lunch home for him too.  Love Baja Fresh.  I could eat guacamole till it came out of my ears.  Mine is better, theirs is still good.

On my way home from BF, I got pulled over for speeding.  47 in a 35.  I got a warning. I noticed that the insurance card in my car is expired by 5 days.  Gotta locate the new one and put it in the car.

I'm getting deeper into the work for my brother-in-law and sister.  They've got their company set up with an FEIN and all.  They are Goon Toonz Entertainment LLC.  Not like I'm getting paid yet or anything.  But I've been working with Wayne to get a website up for Terik.  If you wanna look at it, it's live at heathenhiphop.com.

They're promoting a huge concert they've put together in West Virginia featuring Terik and some guy named DJ Unk, who is apparently quite a big deal.  I need to get a press release put together and sent out to the right people.  I'd like to see some press coverage there but I have no idea about how to go about it.  It's kinda difficult to manage with NO BUDGET but I'm doing the best I can for them.

The boys are good.  Andy is talking more and more.  His little voice is so sweet.  Now if I could only get him potty trained I'd be getting somewhere. Joey is a sweetheart.  I love watching him walk around and explore things.  He smiles all the time.

Glad you had a great interview! :)

You find the degree helps? I have not found it has helped me one teeny tiny little bit--in fact, people tend either to assume my degree was either from someplace like Northwestern Connecticut Community College or University of Northwest Florida or similar. Even if I explain to them, there's just nothing there--it might as well not exist. Guess I haven't been job-hunting in the right places. Chicago was too saturated with NU people, NYC doesn't give two shits because it's "not Ivy League," and nobody here has heard of it.

People are always impressed with my degree... maybe cause we are in different fields?

Could be, though even if I just put Communications, which it technically is, they still equate it to "oh well, you have a high school degree, you can go type something."

Crazy idea but it just might work:

Media coverage is good, but what about seeing in like local college could be live there at the concert? Or see about offering a local radio station free tickets for you? Send demos around? you never know.

and never underestimate the power of internet radio :D
