Happy Thursday!

I spent the day up at my mom's last night... it was so nice to have two additional pairs of eyes to watch the boys.  Especially after the incident in the morning where Andy sat on top of Joey in the Jumparoo.  I wish I could figure out why Andy is obsessed with the baby gear.  I guess he's just so used to having the run of things that being told "NO!" is just a major challenge to see how long it is before I give in and let him have whatever he wants.

Plus it helps that my parents' yard is completely fenced in and we can just set Andy free and let him play.

Last night Steve talked to his ex-wife for the first time in YEARS.  I pushed him a little to call her since she sent a letter a few weeks ago.  She seems to be straightening herself out.  Some of the things she said sound a little 12-steppy, if you know what I mean.  I told Steve that he should try talking to her like he talks to me, instead of going into business-Steve mode, which I think used to really piss her off.  It really worked out and Rachel got to spend a couple hours talking to her mom on the phone.

My sister is still hanging in there with just today to go until her scheduled C-section tomorrow morning.  I can't wait to meet my new niece!  Poor Nela is so uncomfortable and miserable.  Terik is just nervous and has told my mom that he's not sure if he can handle being in the room for the surgery.

Saturday is Steve's and my 5th wedding anniversary (along with Lyddy and Brent!!!!) and we don't have plans officially and he's probably going to have to work at some point on that day.  It's disappointing.  We'll probably head up to Newark and leave the kids with someone in my family and go out for dinner to one of the Spanish places in the Ironbound.  Friday is my parents' anniversary.  Their 33rd.  They're actually starting to get along better again.  They go in cycles and this is one of the good parts.  They may actually go out and celebrate their anniversary as well.  I suggested to my mom that the 4 of us go out together and got a lecture about how she's funny about going out because of her diet, with watching her salt intake and stuff like that.

Today, Andy's behavioral therapist is coming at 10.  After that, I have a bunch of issues to deal with.  I bought an MP3 player at Target and when I tried to use it, it crashes my computer over and over again.   I bought a bra at The Avenue and the first time I washed it, the underwire came completely out.  I don't have the receipt but I bought it fairly recently so I'm hoping they won't give me a hard time.  I need to get over to Sprint and but a car charger for my phone and get Steve a phone and while I'm there, I'll pay my bill.  That is, if the boys hold out with all of that.  Oh, and I'll get anniversary cards too.

What the heck do I buy when the traditional gift is WOOD?  Wood.  Seriously!  I'm drawing a total blank.

Bo staff?
Ummmm, tiki for long life or happiness?
A giant cross you can drag around and hit someone with?
Really ornate chop sticks?
A wood canoe?
Wooden anniversary rings? There are some really neat ones online. I really wanted them for our wedding rings but the missus said no.
Matching walking sticks?
A bonfire?

You're so sweet mentioning us! :) I love you girl. I couldn't have been 10-7 brides with better women, I swear. :)

Uh, so um... I totally forgot about our (meaning me & Brents) "tradition" of getting the "traditional" gifts! I had been planning on getting him an iPod Nano until he went and did what he did pissing me off a few weeks ago to the point that I nearly divorced him! And right before our freakin' 5 year too? Grr... I'm STILL mad that I can't get him what I wanted to :( But hmm, wood you say? Wouldn't THAT just be hilarious to get him like a friggin wooden birdhouse or something jackass-y like that? :) Hehe... I just looked and the MODERN gift version is silverware. I think I have a plan... ;)

P.s. cracking myself UP here! Check out what next years traditional is! http://www.findgift.com/Anniversary-Table/ He gets me a freakin' IRON I'll throw it at him! :D

Hey, I've been browsing... I know it's very last minute (glad I'm not the only one!) but a late gift is always better than NO gift! When you click on "wood" under 5 year it gives you some ideas. I like the idea of the Celtic "love" spoon (especially engraved!), the mens valet and then this one is the best ever!!! :) http://www.femailcreations.com/products/sku-80274__pc-findgift.html
