Is it Thursday night?

It's so easy to lose track of what day it is now that I'm a SAHM.

I'm all juiced up on caffeine and plan to stay up to finish a scrapbook project I've been working on.  It's a set of 20 transparencies for an 8x8 album for a baby's first year.  I'm doing it in Powerpoint and it's taking me forever but I need to get it done ASAP because 3 women in my Mom's Group just had their second child and I planned to make scrapbooks for them where all the have to do is add the pictures as a little gift for them.

But here I am on LJ...

MY HUSBAND, STEVE, ROCKS.

Why?  We just finished munching on part of my Mother's Day present.  It was a Lou Malnati's Chicago style pizza that he got me as part of a Tastes of Chicago kit.  He got me two Chicago Deep Dish pizzas (cheese and pepperoni) and enough Italian Beef, sauce, giardinera and rolls to make 8 sandwiches.  The pizza, though frozen, was still completely ORGASMIC.  Now I'm even more nostalgic for Chicago than I was before.

I am so loving him for this-- this is the best gift I've gotten in a very long time.  Probably since my sister bought me a case of  Green River soda for Christmas a few years back.

Now only if Leona's did nationwide shipping...

Leona's
Probably wouldn't be as good as you remember it. I know the last few times I have gone there for nostalgia, both of the Leona's I remembered fondly were very underwhelming in their food quality. God bless the frailty of memory as I remember them as being so much better.

Re: Leona's
Awww, really? How disappointing! I was going to call you earlier and couldn't find a phone.

I always lose track of days too. My friends laugh when someone asks me what day it is because they know I'm gonna say, "Huh??" :)

What a wonderful and thoughtful gift from Steve!! He knows how to appreciate what his wife does as a mommy for sure! Hey, speaking of food from faraway places... since you live near NY. Have you ever had a Grays Papaya hot dog? Ever since seeing "Fools Rush In" I've wondered if it's as good as they say and worthy of being flown in to a different state! :)

I've never had them but next time I'm in NYC, I will.

Yay for Steve! :) I felt sort of guilty having Italian Beef for Nate's Baptism. Wanted to package you up some and send it! :)

Yeah, Leona's isn't GREAT. Save money on more pizza. :)

Hee hee... The frozen Lou's pizza was awesome. The Italian beef was awesome. Even though I had to eat teeny tiny bites with a fork and knife, it was AMAZING!

I went to college in Evanston, hence my Chicago food obsession. I have never made it to the Taste because I went home every summer.
