Four days and counting

So I'll be 30 on Sunday. Whoo hoo. Apparently Steve tried to plan a party but no one could come. I am going to see my mom's group friends on Saturday for a Mom's Night Out dinner at a restaurant I've been dying to try. Another girl in the group is having her 30th the day after me.

So, on Sunday, I want to go to my favorite Spanish place in Newark for dinner. I'd really like for my parents, my sister and my aunt to come along too but we seriously couldn't afford to treat everyone. Dinner for Steve and I there usually runs a little over $100 so dinner for nine would be like $500. Yikes. So I don't know if it's socially appropriate to mention that I'd like them to come along but to pay their own way. We're talking about my FAMILY here, not my friends so I think it might be okay. I gotta ask my mom later when I talk to her.

Other than that- no big plans. Maybe I'll try to find some time to scrapbook and cuddle with my DS and DH.

How odd. When we usually go out for someones birthday the individuals pay for themselves and the birthday girl, not the other way around.

With friends, that's how it always worked and I wouldn't feel oddly about it at all. With my family, I wonder if they'd be offended-- like, "You invited us, it's your 'party,' it's your treat."

Of course, my family also is aware of our financial issues so maybe I'm wrong.

However, I anticiapte that it will just be me and Steve because my mother will gripe about her diet. My sister isn't going to be up to celebrating anything in just a dew days. My dad doesn't really do anything or go anywhere that doesn't involve hunting. My aunt anne said she's up for it.

Your dad sounds like my brother w/ the hunting. He went to Hawaii with his Ex-Wife (before she was an Ex) only because he found something different to hunt.
