Baby Joey's first pictures...

It's amazing how easy it is to see the baby in these.  I remember looking at the ultrasound pictures of my nephew and only seeing gray blobs.  Is it a mom thing?

Yup! I absolutely love it. The 3d was so cool... the sonographer had to poke around for awhile to get his face because he had his arms up. It was absolutely amazing.

Ooo. Hi, Baby!

I love the 3D one we got of Lennon too. It was pretty early, so he looked a little weird.

I just can't believe how clear it is to see his face. I never had a 3D ultrasound with Andy so the one face shot we have, he looks all skeletal. Still adorable though... ;)

Yeah. I was shocked also to see how skinny Lennon looked in his--because it was so early that it was at a stage he hadn't really developed any body fat. He looks like a famine victim.

How big was he when he was born? Even though I had GD and my OB said I was going to have a big baby, Andy was only 6.5 lbs. He looked like a scrawny little turtle without a shell.

He was totally normal when he was born. I didn't have GD but they did test our sugar because he was over 9 pounds when he was born. They told me there was no way he'd be over 8. And he's been a chunk of lead ever since.

Here, you can see the scale:

Obviously, he was in a really excellent mood when this picture was taken.

He's much more relaxed than Lennon was. Just stretching out. Chillin'...

Oh how cute! His little hand looks strange. And he is all skinny!

Yeah, he was really skinny. but they told us that was because he was so young in gestational age. We had the u/s that early because he was a SURPRISE and so we needed to get an idea of his due date. The u/s was in mid-August and he was born the last day of January.

Cake at my parents' house. A ride in his little red wagon he got for Christmas.

I used to have that one when I was a kid. We'd take the wooden sides off and body surf down the sidewalk. Very safe in neighborhood filled with concrete sidewalks!

There's all kinds of cool accessories for that one if you look on the Radio Flyer site. I like the cooler that can attaches to the back...

Oh cool.

fortunately there are no hills here whatsoever. :) That helps with the danger factor.

I can't quite figure out who he looks more like in the 3-D pic. What do you guys think? I think maybe this one will be Steves twin, the way Andy is yours?

I think he looks just like Andy did when he was born. My doctor friend, Tim says that all babies look like their father at birth-- some kind of evolutionary thing to prove paternity.

I thought the theory was that babies look like their dads when they are born so that the dad will know that it's his kid and not kill the kid (like lions do when the cubs aren't theirs). Then later on the kid can safely start to look more like the mom without fearing for its life.
