Busy Monday

Yesterday afternoon we was Joey's 2 year WBV (a little late) and he weighs 35 pounds and is 36.25 inches tall.  I got lectured by the new pedi about having held off on his vaccines.  He said that the reason they give them so early is because that's when they are at most risk of death from these diseases.  I didn't say it but I was thinking, "Yeah because there are rampant outbreaks of polio and mumps at the Jersey Shore!"  Whatever, he's getting caught up now, I guess.  Andy goes in on Thursday.

From the doctor's office, we went to dinner at On the Border, since it was Cinco de Mayo and all.  They have a new thing on their menu where you get a three course meal for $9.99.  Dinner for the four of us, including a gigantic margarita for me was $35. Woo hoo.

After dinner we drove out to drop the boys off with Steve for the next couple of days.  Joey was really tired and cranky from the shots and he pitched a fit about me leaving.  It made me feel horrible because I know Steve misses them and when I bring them, Joey is all clingy to me.  It's hard on everyone.

We left Steve's and didn't want to just turn around and drive back, so we stopped at Lowe's to look at the cushions we needed/wanted for the patio furniture.  The cushions that were on the chairs are dry-rotted from being outside year round.  Seriously, when you touch the fabric, it tears under your fingers.  So we searched around looking for a good price with good quality and a pattern that wasn't too masculine or too feminine.  So we got cushions from Lowe's in a pattern called "Sierra Stripe," and it's teal, gold, rust, red and olive.  Once I get them all on, I will take comparison pictures.  They didn't have an umbrella that matched but I remembered that my grocery store (???) had really nice umbrellas, so we stopped at Giant and got one for $40!  It's RED!

How long has Joey been going back and forth? Is it getting any better? {{{}}}

It's almost a year for the back and forth. The days change depending on his schedule. Right now it sucks big time for me. I drop them off on Mondays and he brings them back on Wednesdays. We got Broadway tickets for next Saturday based on his old schedule. Luckily, my mom will watch them but that always comes with extra helpings of noseyness and guilt.

Oh, and it means we have 4 kids all weekend.

This just sounds so frustrating, and so hard on the kids and you both. PLEASE don't take this the wrong way, but hearing blended-family stories like yours makes me that much more adamant that I don't want to date another parent (unless he has entirely sole custody).
