So far, Four is a pain in the neck

Andy won't consume anything but pink milk.  This has been going on for at least a week and comes on the tail end of a cold.  He says that nothing is hurting him-- teeth, mouth, throat--but still, only pink milk.

I've tried giving him all his favorite foods from chicken nuggets to strawberries to yogurt.  Nothing.

I have no idea what this is about or how long I should let it go on.

ya know, everyone says its the terrible twos ... i disagree. three and four are much worse. wynnie went through quite a few phases where she just wouldn't eat ... i didnt handle it the best way. i yelled and got angry and punished her when she wouldnt eat ... in retrospect, the best way to deal with it was not to make a big deal out of it, and he'll eat when he's ready. trust me, its not worth the headache for you and the frustration for him, and if he's anything like wynter, the bigger deal you make out of things, the more resistant to eating he will be. good luck, and trust me, i know how you feel!!

Well, there were some Chicken Fries left out from Nathan yesterday and I caught him eating a couple and some strawberries from a bowl on the table, so I think I'm just going to leave some food out for him and if he's hungry, he'll eat it.

Shrug.

Can it be all different kinds of pink milk, like Nutripals or yogurt drinks, or milk with some red food coloring, or soy milk, etc? You could work with this trend for awhile if you had to. ;)

Milk is still a pretty decent food to subsist on when you're at a young age, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. belleatrix is right, when he is actually hungry he'll do something about it.

I should test that out to see if it's only the strawberry Hershey's Syrup... I think I may get some pediasure or whatever that stuff is and see if he'll drink that.

That's a good idea. Maybe if he detects the ruse you can do one of those half-and-half deals and slowly lower the percentage of the syrup. I didn't realize it was syrup that he was insisting upon. I see it has a lot of sugar--does it have HFCS also?

Probably... yeah, it's the primary ingredient. I suck.

NO, you don't suck! It's impossible to avoid completely these days, I was just agreeing that if that is the pink milk he is insisting on, finding alternatives might be a *tad* more (but not desperately so) urgent than if he were drinking, say, something whipped up in the blender from actual strawberries and milk.

But even so, a week of strawberry syrup isn't going to kill him or you and isn't going to give him Type II diabetes. :)
