Typety type type

I should be working on my novel.  It's open and I've added a few thousand words tonight, but I'm behind on my word count by a week.  So instead of adding 1667 words a day, I've got a couple days to go from 6000 to 25,000 because, you know, it's almost mid-month.  In addition to my crappy novel writing, I've volunteered to cook a Thanksgiving dinner for 12-15 people.  So there's got to be some food prep squeezed in sometime soon.  But then again, I've always been the kind of chick who loves a challenge.

Weekend update?  Sure... as long as I can be brief.

Friday:  Woke up early, squished the kids into the car and drove to Jersey.  Picked up my dad along the way.  Dropped Wayne off at the U-Haul where he procured a giant truck.  We emptied all of my large furniture pieces left in NJ onto the truck, as well as some boxed up smaller stuff.  Steve has the house listed for sale and the agent told him he needs to "declutter."  We met our friend, Mike, a funeral director-to-be for some Chinese buffet.  We hung for awhile.  Played some silly games via text message with our mutual friend who lives in Iowa.  Sleep.

Saturday:  More packing and cleaning at the house.  I went to my friend's  place to pick up the adhesive gun I ordered through her but she wasn't there.  Wayne and I had brunch at a diner and went to Ikea and finally around 5:30 or so made it back to our house.  We were supposed to go out to dinner with Wayne's family, but they didn't want to wait for us.  Instead we cleaned up our house and started putting stuff away.  Sleep.

Sunday: More putting stuff away.  Went to a performance of Edgar Allen Poe's works at the site of the PA Ren Faire.  It was held in an old Victorian Mansion and was very entertaining and suitably gothy.  I wore black.  :)   Wayne's uncle, Robert, joined us.  From there we went to dinner in a 250-year-old tavern that made wicked sweet potato chips.  Robert went on his way and Wayne and I had dessert elsewhere before stopping in at Lowe's for some lumber, a hand-held shower head and a lamp shade.

Monday:  Steve didn't have to be at work until 3:30, so I didn't have to wake up at 4:30 to pick up the boys.  When I got home around 5:15, Wayne had made a lovely steak dinner with blue cheese, potatoes and corn.  The boys were adorable and snuggly.  We gave them a bath and sent them to bed.

Now here I am.  I need to crank out another couple thousand mediocre words in my novel.  Show me some support with comments.  I need help.

I really need to update my journal but I haven't had time... so I'll just comment on yours. lol

The weekend was busy with all the moving stuff going on, but with the fun stuff mixed in (meeting Mike for dinner, going to Poe, etc) it didn't seem overwhelming.

Poe was great! The mansion was phenomenal and the actors were spot on. It was a really good time.

As for yesterday, you were having a really bad day so I wanted to do something to take some pressure/stress off you. I hope dinner and giving you some time to relax helped.

*hugs*
