Snagged from redqueenmeg

Comment below and I will:

1) Tell you why I friended you.
2) Associate you with a song/movie.
3) Tell a random fact about you.
4) Tell a first memory about you.
5) Associate you with an animal/fruit.
6) Ask something I've always wanted to know about you.
7) In retort, you MUST spead this disease in your LJ (don't bother if you have already).

1) Cause, cause, you're one of the few Tea Party/DCPers who will still talk to me

2) You used to remind me of Helen Hunt, so I guess if I have to associate you with a movie it would be As Good As It Gets. But the song would have to be Pomp and Circumstance.

3) You had the messiest dorm room I'd ever seen

4) Hmm, I think the first time we met was at the DCP informational meeting.

5) you're a cat person...

6) How'd you end up with Will?

Not Twister? :) I think the only reason Dak was interested in going out with me was because he thought I looked like Helen Hunt.

3) You had the messiest dorm room I'd ever seen

Now, Claire, everyone can do something.

6) How'd you end up with Will?

Pure talent.

Um, I mean, I met Will at a screening of The Count of Monte Cristo in January 2002. justwalker and nuit23 had decided to go and each brought a guest (justwalker and I were not dating, just to make that clear. My previous boyfriend had just been kicked out of the country by the Department of Homeland Security so I was single and not really looking yet.) I went with justwalker and nuit23 brought his friend Will who was a freshman at a local college here.

We met outside the theater and Will said hi and then immediately took off to have a cigarette. I mean, he took off so fast you would have been able to see dust trails if there had been any dust.

We all watched the movie and then spent a few hours at Denny's discussing that movie and other things. I really liked Will's sense of humor and thought he was cute, but then I got hit with a double whammy: I found out he had just turned 19 (I was about to turn 25), and he HAD A GIRLFRIEND, a senior in high school back in Gainesville. So I wrote off that possibility, but I still wanted to be friends.

After that night I started hanging out a lot more with both Will and nuit23 at their apartment. I'm still not sure on the whole chronology of things but after a few weeks of hanging out, that turned into physical stuff fairly quickly, and I don't know exactly when he officially broke it off with Hometown Honey, but around March, Will and I pretty much became exclusive (we celebrate the Oscars as our dating anniversary) and I gave him a key to my place and he moved in in fact if not in name.

The following year he moved in in name as well, and the year after that we bought a house, and four months after that I got pregnant and four months after that we got married and there ya go. :)

Wow. Fast moving stuff. Me too.

And I had no idea you were such a cradle robber! ;)

Yep, Will was 21 when we got married and 22 when he became a father. :)

1) Cause you're the prodigal sister.

2) I always associate you with Rush (Big Audio Dynamite) and Laid by James

3) You used to wear skirts every single day.

4) Hearing that you went out on a date with Jimmy the night before he and I met and trying my best to hate you.

5) Peaches. For the schnapps. In the poppers. :)

6) Why massage?

OMFG, random fact, remember Tom, the blond-and-balding guy I dated who didn't go to NU but played with DCP our junior year? "Rush" was his FAVORITE song EVAR.

I remember Tom. Tom was cute. Whatever happened to Tom?
Feb. 15th, 2007 03:05 pm (UTC)
Ultimately I don't know. But he cheated on me with a Starbucks girl, broke up with me in January 1997, left me crying in a snowbank a mile from home, went to a D&D camp, had a new girlfriend less than 23 hours later, got me kicked out of the play I was in since he was in it too, and then had the gall to tell me he wanted to get back together with me two months later. Despite having drunk an entire glass of tequila, I said no, and I am still very proud of that.

Wow... cute Tom = Asshole.

Good for you for saying no.
Feb. 15th, 2007 06:41 pm (UTC)
Yeah, pretty much. I think the thing that most amused me after he and I broke up was the play he and I had both been cast in--I promised him I'd see it, and I did--with Joe. Heh. But get this: In the poster for the play, they'd given Tom DIGITAL HAIR! That's right. He had a full head of hair in the poster, and he DID NOT NOTICE anything different.

Also, in the play, his character was supposed to kill himself with a gun to the head. The gun did not go off, and he couldn't make it work even by checking it and trying to refire it, so instead he just screamed "RRRRAAAAAGHHHH!" and fell to the ground, so it looked like he died of frustration.

Comedy gold.

2) California Girls. :)

3) I love to tell people the story of how you met Brent.

4) You were the first person to acknowledge me when I joined the Oct 7, 2001 brides thread on WC.

5) Raw fish. :) Cause you're the sushi goddess.

6) How did your parents react to you dating Brent?

Ooh, that was fun! :)

#6... Well, being as I lived here in CA and they lived in AZ, they didn't have much to say. I was 22 at that point & they'd known he was a friend of mine for years. It was actually my mom who got us together in a way (I don't know if you remember this) because she suggested I ask my "cop friend" about police impound auctions for cars since I needed one. I did, he found me one, he worked on it (former mechanic) and I never left! :) She joked around that time "I told you to ask for the guys help, not start dating him!" :) But I'm sure they thought it was just like any other guy I dated, that I'd leave soon (I had a very short attention span for relationships back then) They were VERY surprised when I got pregnant (yes, it's true) and then he told my dad he wanted to marry me. My dad said no. I can just imagine there were suddenly alarm bells going off in both their heads, thinking I'd marry him and then go "shit! what did I do?!" They tried to talk me out of it, but I wasn't hearing it. They told me he was too old for me, that I must just be looking for a father figure to take care of me since I was so scattered at that time in my life. It took them awhile to get used to him. But within a year or so they loved him just as much, my dad especially. You can see the excitement in his face when we arrive or whatever. He likes talking to him about martial arts and working on cars and stuff. I think he sees him like a peer almost :)

Sorry for the novel! :)
